Low beams inop
2000 XJ 4.0. I bought this Jeep over a year ago. The low beams have not worked since I've owned it. The high beams work, but are not very bright (about as bright as the low beams should be). I verified there is no voltage going to the headlamps when the low beams are activated. When I drive at night, I keep the high beams on (they are not bright enough to annoy other drivers). Most recently, the high beams start to flicker after they have been on for 15-20 minutes. Today I replaced the headlamp switch and switch connector. The old connector did have some burn marks and melted spots. I believe I fixed the flicker problem, but I still have no low beams. Any thoughts? Thanks

I cannot say for certain how it is on the 2000 but my 1995 had a really really corroded plug that was underneath the air filter box. It is designed so that you can take the whole front clip off and then just unplug the harness in the engine bay. I don't know if they ever reconfigured it, good luck.
