Default Loud knocking in rear on right turns

98, 4.0

In a suit at the moment so can't really get under there. Started today on a gradual right turn. Only on right turns, sharp or gradual on the highway. Anything i should concentrate on when i get under there?

Check the upper shock mounts. The bar pin bushing can go bad, allowing the shock to move. Are all the bolts still there? Does it have a rear sway bar? Check that stuff, too. Could be anything. Crawling under it is the only way. Wear safety goggles.

Thanks, I'll check all of that out in a little while and report back.

Is it a repetitive knocking? or random knocking?

If it is a repetitive sound, look for items that rotate or that are hitting something that rotates (wheels, drive shaft, u-joints, rear differential, brakes, etc).

If it is random based on bumps in the road focus on shocks, bushings, sway bar connections, etc.

The rear most tail pipe hanger broke, causing the muffler to rotate about 45 degrees. The noise was the tailpipe hitting something. I am assuming I can buy this whole assembly here?

Look up Walker 36377 exhaust hanger. Just like factory.
