Bought my '93 XJ and im in love with it and cant wait to take it out. But the fuel pump went out a month after buying it from the guy, replaced it with an Airtek from auto zone and it was incredibly loud so loud it sounds like the vehicle may blow up any second haha. so i warrantied it and replaced it again (not happy). The Second one still does it. so i just want some info from someone that has had this EXACT problem before that can tell me what the ULTIMATE SOLUTION was!!!! i have heard all the "maybes" and "try this's", but i dont think i have the patience or the sanity leftover to "TRY" something else haha. Any help honestly is appreciated dont get me wrong...

 

Did the pump have the little "bumper" on the bottom of it that fits into the recess inside the tank? And did you get the bumper into that recess upon installation?

 

yeah u put the bumper on and made sure it was in that little hole in the tank... when the vehicle idles it doesnt do it. but once you drive it aorund and run more fuel through the lines its starts doing it then it will do it even when it idles after you drive it. but you can leave it in the driveway running for an hour and it wont hum at all.

yeah airtek fuel pump, i have been told this alone could be the problem...
