Default Loud Clunking

I drove about 100 miles yesterday without any problems what so ever. Got home, grabbed a bite, then headed off again. I was about 100 yards out of the driveway and heard a loud clunking noise comin from the front-end. When i applied the brakes to slow it down, it stopped? From what i can tell its comin from the passenger side. Any ideas??

Jack up the front and start moving the front tires up & down & side to side then turn steering left to right and have someone listen for noises...Tj

does it do it when you turn? if so it might be your rear end.that happened to me once and it sounded like it was coming from the front end. the gears were missing teeth and was slamming my drive shaft off of my frame

since it only does it when you are braking. check your caliper bolts.

and also check your shock bolts and top nuts.

Yea i recently had the tires rotated, and they got aligned the day it started making that noise. And it doesnt make noise when braking, it quits when brake pressure is applied. im lost at this point. Me and a buddy are gonna work on it shortly. any insight would be most appreciated! thanks

As has already been said, check your shock bolts and caliper bolts. Also, check your control arm bushings, if they're wallowed out they will clunk. Pinion nut coming loose will also clunk. Bad trac bar bushings will clunk. Lots of things to look for. Just have to climb under there and move things around and go through a thorough process of elimination. Good luck.
