I got a 99 XJ. Got stuck in a mud hole today. Buddy pulled me out. Get on the street and when I make a turn it's making a loud clicking sound coming from the front end and it kinda feels like somethings hanging up too. Can anyone help me out so I can get it fixed?

When my front U-joints were toast it would do that. Snap, crackel and pop turning hard. Bind. Mostly in 4WD, barely in 2WD. If you can see any play at all between the joint ears when you turn the shaft back and forth, that's it.

Does the XJ have a CV Joint? Or is it a CV Joint/Axle combo?? Would that also do the snap crackle pop?
Cause it's doing it in 2W. When pulling in the drive way, pulling in a parking spot at the store.

You might need to poke your nogen under there and actually look at it. Most have U joints, some have different stuff. Yea, CV joints can be noisy, but usually accelerating (being driven) in my experience.
