Update: it was the blower motor. More of a pain then I had originally expected. I ended up extracting the freon (even though some people rotate the tank) Moved all the evap stuff, had a struggle with one stupid bolt in the bottom corner, so as usual a hour job turned into a day job. But it's all done.

 

I had to replace one on an '86 a while back. Getting yours done all in the same day...well, you beat me! Best laid plans of mice and men, etc.
