no its not... just 1st you need to make sure which transfer case it has... then you need to get the vin and make sure its not a retag or stolen... because its not a 96
I'll check it out. I don't think the guy is lying...I think he just doesn't know.
Although being that old, the fact the a/c doesn't work makes me wonder...I hope its not still r12.
If I could pick it up for 1000 would that be a decent buy?

as long as it is not rusty... i would think so... is the interior clean does it run good? any other problems? overhead console work? head liner in good shape.. if it is a renxi it is R12 they make a r134 convert kit... very easy to do...
He said one window switch is finicky. and a leak in a/c hoses.
Waiting on int pics. It's about 45 min away from me, and I want to for sure decode the VIN before I go out there.
I don't need a/c right now, but in the summer in DFW...yes.
And it has most mods I would do anyway. It won't be a daily driver so I have time to tinker with it.
The prefect scenario is I verify it is an older one, then make him the offer based on that and what it needs...presto.

I live in south Ft. Worth if you need a hand.
Well crap...turns out it was an 89...I found some older ads of the jeep.
I guess he typo'd the one I was looking at, but sold the jeep about an hour after I contacted him...
It seems this happens to me A LOT; someone will have a vehicle for sale for months, then I reach out to them and it sells moments later. I should sell my services.
Anyway...there is another one I thought about..
Its a 2dr though...not sure about that. It is a manual, which i'd prefer for longevity. No lift really though, but seems like it would be a better DD.

Sorry you missed it.. I too have been burned by ads that have been running for MONTHS, only to call and find out that "it just sold this morning". DOH
I DID snag my '92 4 years ago by using one of those cragslist apps that emailed when a new listing was posted. I totally sniped my XJ for $200. lolwin! I called the seller as soon as the ad came up. Left work and hauled *** to his house. Paid cash and picked it up later on.
