Default looking for an XJ

im begining to look for an XJ for my wife. id like newer but what are some issues with certain years to look out for? id like it to be between 97-01. thanks.

Anything post 96 has major drive line vibes with lifts, other than that they've been the same for years. Get yourself a 2000 if your not planning on wheeling it, A limited if you can, if not no big deal, she'd just be happier in it.

i dont plan on lifting it at all, unless the suspension needs to be replaced. i'd prefer either an '00 or '01, just for age and mileage reasons. what options does the limited have over the rest?

power seats, and a sunroof. They have better T-Cases but if your not wheeling it really doesn't matter

id rather have the selectable t case which is the 231. isnt the other t case a full time 4wd only?

No the 231 isn't selectable I have it in my 99 classic, it has 4w hi and lo but no part time, the 242 was the only transfer case on the 96+ that had the part time and full.
