I am looking to try and install a sun roof on my '92 Cherokee that didn't come with one. I'm pretty new to this extensive of a project but have the time to do it. I found an entire mechanism off a junkyard Cherokee. I know it seems like kind of an intense project, but any ideas?

 

Yea! don't do it. Every one I've heard of leaked.

 

im saying have a brand new one professionally done. cause that junk one you found proally has bad seals. bushings. inless your looking to replace those. but you would have to. ( im assumeing ). cut into the roof. trying to keep the structurel integrity in tact. or supporting afterwards.install it. make sure it sits right. lays right. and opens and closes right. or else you will have leaks. but if your good and replace those seals. i say do it. but id have a new one professionally done

 

I agree with Spahr. Get it professionally done. Most home sunroof installation jobs (regardless of the vehicle type) end up leaking. It's not a project that I personally would be willing to take on.
