Default Looking for a Cargo Cover

hey all, I posted in the wanted section but to avail and when searching I found similar posts placed here. So, I’m trying to locate a factory retractable cargo cover preferably in tan or sand for an ‘89 XJ. I’ve searched EBay for a while and my local JY. I’ve heard of people coming across them, having them in storage etc. if anyone out there has one they’d be willing to part with, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

thanks I have seen those but from what I have read they are cut for a spare tire mounted on the passenger side, not the drivers side.

its listed for a RHD jeep so I'm guessing the spare is on the other side? Is it possible to just flip it upside down?

I am really not sure. There was another member on here who ordered one and posted about it and said he ended up having to send it back BC it wasn’t meant for the US models and wouldn’t work. As a last resort I suppose I will order one from Amazon and see if it works and if not, return it. I’d really like to find an OEM one. I know they’re out there.

Those cargo covers have little value imo. When you pull it forward to conceal something it tells a thief your XJ is worth breaking into. Just a thought.....

Another opinion is the old "out of sight out of mind" adage. Most thefts are a crime of opportunity. In this case you take anything you have out of sight of potential thieves they're probably a lot less likely to break in as they would be rolling the dice that there's nothing in there at all but a spare tire.

I understand. Theft is not my concern at all. I like it for the shade it provides in this ruthless south Louisiana heat. Also, it’s more about completing the restoration than anything.
