Football canister, or a vac leak somewhere.

Two possible causes, the first is cheap/easy and the second is expensive/time-consuming.

1.) Speed control electrical connector or mechanical linkage disconnected.
2.) Failed circuit in clock-spring (PITA).

90% of the time it is a vacuum problem. Does your ac switch from floor to defrost? If it doesnt it is a vacuum problem.

Cruise is handled through the PCM. The only fuse that would affect it is the brakelamp fuse (fuse 22 in the PDC).

The wheel-mounted cruise switches use a MUX variable-resistance circuit through the clockspring. The PCM reads a variable-resistance MUX from the steering wheel-mounted controls. This meant fewer wires through the clockspring. It is best read on a DRB III, which is the factory scantool. With the DRB III, you can monitor the logic-circuit in the PCM which reads the MUX.Without a DRB, the at-home owner could only read the signal by backprobing for voltage at the clockspring. The clockspring also carries the current for the airbag and horn, so most people are scared by it.

Yup, sounds like it. Check the 'Jeep Egg' behind your front bumper, passenger side. See if the hoses are connected there. If so, then trace them back through the engine compartment and figure out where they are broken/unhooked.

This one has been relocated. Usually it sits inside the front bumper on the passenger side.

It can run right, but you won't have cruise and you won't be able to switch your vents to defrost. One hose goes to it. It splits off in the engine compartment.

ok well that totally looks like the wire hanging down cept mines wrapped in conduit.. so can it work if the things just totally gone.. cause i dont see that thing anywhere in/ around the engine bay.

so a hose goes to it? and a wire? or just the hose?

as it is the only thing that works vent wise is the defrost if that helps u troubleshoot any

I've never traced mine? You could try putting a screw with some silicone on it into the end of the hose you got hanging down. Might seal it up enough to engage the vac, but then you might just end up with your vents on defrost all the time because it can't release the vacuum to switch it back. Heh. Go to a JY and pull a canister off of one.
