Default long term effects of lunchbox lockers?

Since I am seriously considering installing an aussie in my rear for just a lil better performance offroad....seein as fall and winter are my thing!!!
Was wonderin if there were any long term wear and tear effects with running a lunchbox...vs the more popular lockers that require ring gear work???
Eventually I'd like to have a detroit in the rear and an ARB up front..buuuut that will come later once I'm into my 33/35" build......

I installed an Aussie about 5 months ago and honestly right now I am about to scrap the thing and go put spiders back in it. Now I will give them credit their customer service has been outstanding! However, the locker has been nothing but issues. You can check my build thread for details.

As far as long term effects. People have run them for 1000's of miles with no ill effect. I think I just got a bad apple.

Had a PowerTrax No-Slip lunchbox locker in a Chevy P/U for over 100K, no issues. Installed one in the XJ this past June, no issues.

Ran Aussie's front and rear for about 3-4 years and didn't have any issues. Sold them to a buddy of mine and he is still beating on them. Good gear oil will help quieten them and as long as your stock carrier is good you should be fine.
