only con i see is they are easier to hang up on rocks...the rustys are high clearance so i wouldnt see this being an issue. other than that its all pro's...you wouldnt regret buying them. i dont like rustys but thats just me....look at the iron rock offroad 3-link kit. it is cheaper and will flex better with less bind.

I've got a jeep at the shop that has the Rustys LAs on it. I like them and their mounting brakets.
I had my own made like rustys and it does well. I can unseat a 6.5" coil and max out a 20 degree RTI if that helps any.

I dont mean to brag here but i do have quite a bit of fabricating experience and i was curious if you guys have ever heard of somebody building their own long arms? i looked at the rusty's type and to be honest i see some places i can make some serious improvements? lemme know what u guys think about it, and also if i pull it off and it looks good i may do some limited (cheap) production of them.

many people have built there own, me being one of them. saves a butt load of money and you can build what you want. the major thing about building longarms for the XJ is how to mount them to the "frame". i plated the inside and outside of mine for adequate strength.

well i looked at how rustys did their frame strengthener. i have the rustys skid so i was going to build the mounts onto the skid plate and then i have some thick steel plate ant in just gonna run it along the frame (bend it to the shape of the frame) and mount it to the frame (no welds) and then mount the skid to the plate and.
im going to make the arms like rustys high clearance but the way they weld the mounts (a friend of mine has them) is kinda weak its only a short weld and not on the interior of the mount either. so im gonna beaf it up and weld the crap out of it!

Just remember.........your weakest link will be the metal directly adjacent to where you "welded the crap outta them" Too much weld/heat can be just as dangerous as not enough.....
If you make a set.....make 2 sets... 1 set to carry on the trail with you, in case of metal fatigue/failure.....
Just my 2 cents worth
