Makes the ride much nicer, articulates better and makes it drive more like a stock vehicle on the highway. I built my own, I wouldn't want to go back to short arms.

when built correctly, they are better than short arms in every way.

Well I don't want to be a dick but building a long arm suspension is not something guys make write ups about. Maybe some threads showing how to install them ,but not ones with measurements and other very valuable info that I have seen. They take alot more fabrication skill and tools. So If you have never done anything like this before than it will cost you alot more to try and build a kit than buy one, mostly cause of the material that you will use in the trial and error of the build. It is not the most complicated thing in the world but is not like making a homemade snorkel or even a front, rear bumper.

Now I do not know you at all. You may have some fabrication skills and may be able to build your own long arm kit, but from your posts it does not seem like the best idea for you to take this one Yet and I do not want you to waste your time. Good Luck on what ever you do.

sounds like your best bet would be to buy a kit. the mounting points are critical on XJs and if not properly built, carnage will ensue.

I think we discussed this on another thread, or maybe it was in another forum. The bottom line after pics and posts was that if you don't have enough fabrication experience and skills to figure it out anyway, you should not do this. There are a number of issues with doing this, not just making arms out of tubing. This is one of those things that you probably just need to pay for if you really want to be high enough to warrant one.
