Default locker help

ok i need lockers. does anyone know of the cheapest full lockers out there? my jeep is strickly off road so it is trailered to the trails. and i only put about 2 thousand miles max a year on it so im not worried about wear. i was looking at a lock-rite kit. how hard would it be to install a kit like lock-rite over a full carrier replacement like detroit softlock?

awe.....you've got the "turdy" five....I dont know how long that would last with a locker in it....if its mainly for trail use, i'd put a auburn ECTED or a Detroit locker. but i have the 8.25 rear end. all i've heard is bad things about the 35

and installing a lock-rite or powertrax or aussie locker is really easy, the average mechanic with a few tools can do it in a few hours. i just bought an aussie and am looking forward to putting it in my jeep in the next couple weeks. once it warms up.....its 26 in south texas right now....possible snow thursday. already saw snow here once this year

For your use and what you have, I'd put a spool in each axle, or weld the spider gears. Cheapest option there is.

True about the 35. But you can always sell the spool, or toss the axle (if you weld), and upgrade.

X2 on a spool or welding the diff's. I did it on my blazer and J20 and it was awesome 4 wheeling but a little tricky on the street...Tj
