2005 Gr. Cherokee. Just went out to go to the gym and my auto locks will not open, back window will not open, alarm won't sound! DEAD!! The key will not even turn when I try to open manually!!!

About 6 mos ago my wife opened it manually when the auto locks would not open with the remote and the alarm sounded and would not go off. Someone at her work had to disconnect the battery and let it sit a minute, and there has not been a problem since.

Anyone know what is going on or what I can do?

sorry cant help ya but I have never herd of the key not working

maybe if the battery is dead it auto locks the doors to keep anyone from disconnecting the battery to override the security system

If you just tried the key in the driver's door, try the key in other doors too, including the liftgate. One of these may not have the same problem. If that still doesn't work, you'll either need to call a mechanic or break a window.

Got the door open but now when ever I open the doors, the alarm goes off for 3 min. The vehicle starts, ut dies after 2 seconds or so. Is this a security thing? What are my options?

sounds like a security thing to me. Your options are to take it in to get it fixed or try to figure it out yourself. For something like that, I'd take it in

there should be a re set function for the security system
is your remote not working still
could be dead bat in the remote the remote will disable the security

call your dealer and ask for the procedure

it will have something like turn on key turn on lights pump brake three times

Car alarms are annoying. This day in age, people are so desensitized by them anyway. What's the point?
