You wouldn't have any trouble steering unless you are driving around corners on the street in four wheel drive. Worst case you will here a click when cornering in two wheel drive on the street

I followed the instructions, installed mine and in less than 100 yards, I sheared all 4 pins. The thing never unlocked and I was in 2WD the whole time. I had it in for less than 30 minutes.
