Default lifting a jeep today

I'm putting a lift on my Cherokee today I've got it about half way apart and I've already came up with my own 4 step process to put a lift on next time.
Step one: buy matches
Step two: light matches
Step three: throw matches through the window
Step four: "lift" the jeep on a trailor and haul to the scrap yard

If you have any problems completing my new process just PM me and ill explain better.

+2. I do lifts for a living. I usually know what is going to break or how to get something out with minimum fuss.

The bolt is most likely seized inside the sleeve. Cut the bolt on both sides of the leaf spring. You should use all new hardware anyways. I just went through this about a month ago. Had I not tried to save the hardware for reuse, I could have done the whole lift in 5-6 hours. Instead, it stretched out over a weekend.

This. You cut the bolt then you have to figure out how to get it out. I cut the spring where it starts to wrap and remove the spring then get the bushing out by cutting it enough to get to the sleeve, find the parting line, spread it open then work the bolt back and forth so it comes out without breaking anything.

Im almost positive its not seized it has 50k miles completely rust free and every other bolt has come off 100 trouble less except this one and the upper bolt for the track bar but thats only bc it was in an odd position

I've had things with 20K on them fight me more than something with 200K.

These bolts are especially prone to rust. Water and gunk like to get up in there and hang around. The only other thing, maybe the net inside the frame rail broke loose. Can you spin it at all or is it locked up?

I was able to get them out with pliers. Almost came out by hand.

Thing is is that it looks like its in the threaded part and not all the way out

Mine were still in about 5-6 turns. Once that lousy sleeve is out of the way, they should come out relatively easy. The sleeve is giving you the grief, not the bolt.

If you have a welder, I weld a washer to the broken bolt then weld a nut to the washer then turn it out. The heat will help.
