Hey guys. I decided to lift my cherokee and make it more of a play toy than it has been but I was wondering, is lifting a cherokee as cut and dry as lifting a YJ?

 

Pretty straight forward, rear spring packs, front coils, new LCA's, new shocks and track bar relocation. Speaking from a three inch lift perspective, if you go bigger it gets a little more involved.

 

Three inches is very straight forward. I did it in a couple of hours. If you go more than three inches you are going to have to make some changes to adjust the front drive shaft and transfer case. ALIGNMENT, alignment, alignment! Anyway: I went with a three inch lift and cut out flares. You can do it. Take your time and be safe.

 

I did my 4.5 RC kit full rear spring packs over a weekend with a couple of buddies and more than a couple beers probably could have done it in a day without the beers... but what fun would that be???

 

i did the 6.5" rough country and it was pretty easy not considering some PIA bolts that didnt want to go easy!!

 

I'm just completing my 4.5 RE. About 6-8 hours install. Don't forget you'll have to adjust pinion angles on rear and or new/extended driveline maybe with slip yoke eliminator on certain years. Oh and shocks. Maybe new tires and wheels. AND alignment when complete..............

The most important thing is build it once and build it right. It may take a while but if you compromise it will cost you ALOT more.

with the rc 6.5" i got the new leaf pack and it already had the shims for the pinion angle
