So my liftgate latch was doing the thing where it didn’t want to open, and it finally gave and the plastic latch actually broke. No problem, went to the junkyard to get a new one and I’m just wondering if anyone knows if there’s a special way to remove the lock cylinder from the latch, or if I’m supposed to just muscle the lock out of it by pressing it out. Thanks!

Don't press it out. There is a spring that holds the lock cylinder to the plastic part of the housing. It just kind of clicks into place. Not sure how to really describe it but you should be able to see it securing the cylinder to the plastic housing. Just remove that with a screwdriver or needle nose pliers and it pops right out.

Thanks buddy! I watched a number of videos but none showed that removal. And I did notice that little spring but just couldn’t get it to budge. This is perfect though. Thanks again
