Either sawzall from the outside or remove the interior trim panel & have a look.

It's kinda hard to get at but you have to take the panel off the hatch from the inside and if you look inside the hatch at the back of the lock you can see the mechanism. If the latch is just stuck you can stick a flat screwdriver in between the pin and the latch jaws and pry it open. If that doesn't work you can look past the pin and a bit up and you can see a square plastic or nylon tab about an inch square. The tab slides left or right to unlock or lock the latch. Unlock is all the way to the right (when you're looking from inside the truck). Once you've made sure the lock tab is in unlocked position, if you have small enough fingers, you should be able to grab hold of the tab and pull it towards you. If you can't reach far enough to get the tab with a finger you can make a hook from a stiff piece of wire. Pulling the lock tab towards you releases the latch from the lock pin and allows the hatch to open.
If the above doesn't work for you just let me know

I sprayed wd40 into my latch mech. And then i took a flat head screw driver. Pried on the latch, while my grandpa was on the outside trying to open it and pop it opened. Then i took a wire wheel and cleaned all the rust off and greased it up. Goodluck.
