lifter tick.
Just started getting lifter tick. Is there anything I can do to possibly stop this or percent it from getting worse? It oddly has started happening after putting high detergent oil/mmo in.

Does it do it on a cold start-up?

Honestly I wouldn't worry as long as its not a knock and there isn't metal in your oil. My buddy's 05 TJ with the I6 and 60k miles ticks. All my friends with XJs have lifter ticks. It seems to be normal with these engines..

Next time it does it, shut it off. Wait 20 seconds and start it again. Does it go away? Take another stop and start for it to quit? If so, give the MMO with Rotella a chance to work. Took 1,000 miles on one of mine and 1,500 on the other before it quit. Don't just let it run and tap. Shut it off and restart as suggested.
