Lift Questions
I got a Rubicon Express Super Ride 3.5" lift for my 2000, and was hoping to put it on tomorrow. Is there any advice that may help since ive never installed a lift before? And also with two guys how long will it take? Thanks!

Well on my Black waggie the rear was a piece of cake and the front really sucked. I couldn't get the LCA's to line back up. Spring compressors were a pain in the but to work with. I HATE DOING THE FRONT.
Now when I lifted my tan waggie. Front went pretty easy. I decided to cut out my old springs instead of trying to save them. They are a PIA to get out with spring compressors.
The rear on it well I broke all 4 shock bolts on the rear and had to cut out one of the spring pack bolts and broke all the u-bolts UGH... Buy some PB-blaster and soak in all down today. You will need a good 21mm socket, 13 mm socket and a 15mm for the u-bolts I think that is about it. I nice impact works well on the 21mm just spray it good with pb-blaster first.

Ive been spraying everything down for the last week, and since the underside is not to bad, i hope i won't break anything. Also for a 3.5" lift is there a need for the track bar to be replaced with an adjustable?

No, but if you find it tight then you can drill another hole about an inch away and you should be fine. Track bar atleast mine was a PIA to break free. I had a fully charged snap on impact that would not brake the lil 15mm bolt free so I just left it the way it was. I have a 3in RC lift and track bar is fine. I have hear that the RE 3.5 is actually like 4.5 for the first month till it settle so you may have to move it a lil.

Soak every nut and bolt with PB Blaster for a couple of days before getting started. Try tightening stubborn nuts/and bolts before you try loosening them, it helps break them free. More PB Blaster.
A good coat of anti-sieze on all of the new hardware.
Use steel degree shims on your rear axle to cut down on driveline vibes, but expect to put in an SYE.
Did I mention that you should use alot of PB Blaster?
Don't forget new shocks and extended brake lines. Actually it's a good time to completely drain your brakelines and fill 'em with new fluid.
Almost forgot...

on my 88 i surprisengly didnt have a single proble front or back i took a cutoff wheel to my u-bolts in the rear which made that just a breeze. since you have air tools hopefully everything should be pretty easy.

Well I just installed this exact lift...I'll give some advice I ran into...The rear leaf spring center pins will be longer then you need since they are put in for adding shims..You will have to gring a little out and you will also have to enlarge the ping hold on the spring pad and the directions will tell you what size bit you need so make sure you have that first. Also on the front LCA's do the rear mounts first, and you will have to use a small chunk of 2x4 wood to flex the opening abit since the bushings are wider then the opening..Also on that mount area there is a small spacer thing of some sort and not sure what that is but I ended up tack welding it so it wouldn't move around on me. Other then that directions are pretty good..There are no directions for putting the sway bar end links together but it's not bad..There are 2 washers make sure they both go right against the bushing or you will tear that bushing up fast. Like others have said not tough the hardest part on the rear was getting the front leaf spring bolts out.
On the front my suggest remove the sway bar end links first, then remove the shocks, then start loosening the LCA bolts...once they are lose remove the front bolts first and let them fall out then remove the rear,,,Then using a floor jack jack one side up then have someone use a foot to lower the other side as much as possible and the coils will come right out..Then you can put the new coils in easily..
I think that's about it..If ya need any help just pop in and ask.. I did mine solo except having my non mechanic neighbor give me a hand pushing the axle down to get the coils out and I used floor jacks to hold the leafs as I put em in and a bottle jack to manipulate the lCA's in place...I did mine in about 6 hrs...
On the rear top shock bolts here's a trick .... Don;t jsut start twisting on them..take your ratchet and gentle tug it a little then back the other direction as is slightly tightening it then loosen a little and spray some PB or a Silicon lube in and wiggle the bolts back and forth to help it lube up and you have a greater chance of not breaking a bolt off..

Bump Stops! front and rear, but especially the front since your gonna have the springs off, oh and ive read that a lot of people have had to go back and put in a 3/4" coil spacer to level everything out. I did on my lift. so I guess what im trying to say is, but 3/4" coil spacers and put them on now to save yourself the trouble.

Oh good call on the 3/4" leveling spacer..You will have to do that..I am gonna have to and it sucks..I plan on just getting a strut compress and compressing the coils down till I can get the spacer in and be all good..
