Ok if you had a choice between the RE 3.5" lift (with track bar & shocks) and the Rough Country 4.5" lift(full leaf packs & track bar) at about the same price which one would you get and why?

There are factors for both. Dual purpose vehicles are better suited to a RE kit while more aggressive, more dedicated off road vehicles may be suited better to the RC kit.
What are the intended uses for your Jeep?

DD plus some offroad adventures...I was thinking the RE might be better suited since it's not just a toy and can always add to the lift later once it's not a DD.. How much actual lift do you think the RE 3.5 will actually provide?

Well I was just in your predicament a few weeks back, and I went with the RC 4.5. The price was better and you get more lift. I think over all i'll achieve more of the look im after with the 4.5.
**edit** Mine is a DD that will see off-road maybe a handfull of times a year.

Yeah I might just do the 4.5 and can add larger tires later this year..
Plus I can get by without and SYE and probably just do a wedge on the rear axle or tc drop kit..

Stryker can be right once in awhile. If you buy any lift from RE they send you a lift which is taller that their advertised height. My 3.5 is over two years old and still holding at 4" even with the back full of tools and spares. Might be close to 5" empty, as it was when I put it in. Each Jeep is going to be different. It is not an exacty thing IYKWIM.

Well after a lot of thought and such I think I am going with teh RE 3.5. For now it fits what I will be doing much better..Once I graduate and the jeep becomes a toy and not a DD I'll just add shackles and front spacers or replace the front coils and go higher.. Plus I can get away without an SYE on the 3.5...Talked to a guy at school who has a 91 and he put the 3.5 in with no SYE and no TC drop and has no vibes so I might just get lucky and not have to deal with that for now..Plus i need to focus on some other things as well so it'll get me enough lift for some off roading, hunting and general day to day fun..Thanks for the input gang it sure helped me in my thought process..
