Here's a question...Can the bushings in the factory shackles be replaced or is it best to just replace the shackles themselves?

Don't think the dealer has them seperately. I think it is sold as a kit. Haven't bought one since the CJ7 but thats the way it used to be a hunndred years ago.

All I know is my old shackle bushing are trashed..so I may just order a crown replacement set..I wish you could by an after market shackle that was a direct OEM replacement ie same length and wouldn't lift the suspension any..

Yeah I have found a couple gems at teh JY so far...although I would bet the shackles I found there would be in as bad or worse shape then mine..can get crown OEM replacements for cheap from rusty's..so that's the route I may just take ...

I got an OEM front skid for mine with hardware for $15 locally..although I have yet to put it on...cracked my fan shroud and found a replacement for that aswell...door handles, and a few other minor parts that can't really go bad...

Check with Gerr on our vendor page for Crown stuff. He has great prices and good service. Have been watching him for a few months on different sites and have never heard a negative word about him or his stuff. Just thought he might give you a better price on that kinda stuff.
