Left side of stereo system is quieter than right (2000)

Left side of stereo system is quieter than right (2000)
Just bought a 2000. Just looking to see where I should start troubleshooting here. Left side is significantly quieter than the right, in both the front and rear speakers. If I’m right, my year has no amp, so wondering where to start. Thanks!

There should be balance and fade controls on the radio. At least there are on my factory radio. Underneath the volume and tuning ***** are little black levers sticking out. One is front/rear fade and the other is left/right balance. Everything is black so they are hard to see.
