Has anyone been using LED bulbs in there XJ's....and is there any advantage to using them other than light power?
I would like to improve the lighting of the brakes lights and turn signals and back up lights....and maybe the interior lights...but I know very little about LED's.
Kinda pricy but.....what an improvement light wise!

Better light, longer lasting, Less draw on the electrical system. A bit more money is the only downfall with them IMO. Plus they look sweet.
Little fact LED is short for Light Emitting Diode.

Thats probably why they were dimmer. You got the colored ones. Stick with the clear ones. Also there is cheap LED's which are crap, then there are good LED's. Most of the time the price reflects this.

The problem with using them for blinkers is that they draw less amperage. They dont trigger the flasher the same so sometimes they wont blinker or you get whats called "Hyper-Flash" and they blink like you have a bulb out. You can use a load equalizer but that also adds to the expense.
When I put my clear makers on my XJ I used amber leds so when the lights are off the lens and blub blend with the fender. When the lights are on they are bright yellow.
There is a company that makes a 3 or 5 arm led bubls. I think they are called Spider-Lites but they are pretty expensive.
