leaking oil for 2 long, word to the wise.

Default leaking oil for 2 long, word to the wise.

Let's see fixed the oil filter assy and replaced o-rings, Replaced oil sencer and new valve cover cap. Well i still had leaks and it was getting worse.
Used 4 cans of degreaser and car wash.
Well turns out it was my oil sencer and valve cover cap.
Both have been replaced twice, So my point is to clean and look before
going for that rear main seal, It took a wile but she is dripless for now.

Good advice. The rear main seal gets blamed for almost all leaks on a 4.0 because it's the lowest spot for ANY leak to drip from.

Tell me about it. I made that same expensive mistake. Damn near ruined a good business relationship over it too! I ultimately did the filter o-rings (thanks to CF). Best $7 and hour of labor I ever spent. Another sad part of that rear main seal mistake is that other things have felt/sounded weird to me ever since...
