Default Leaf Spring Help

Well I bought the jeep with a 3'' Rustys lift on it. Well recently I developed a horrible vibration so I decided to take it in and get it looked at. Well the dealership told me that the left rear leaf spring needed to be replaced, and the u-joints in the rear shaft needed to be replaced as well. Well since I have a 3in lift on in, do I need to get 3in lift leaf springs? Does anyone know what my options are in terms of getting a set of new leafs. Can get some a set out of a different vehicle that will work?

Thanks.

Describe your vibration. I think the stealership is full of doodie. Does you jeep lean to one side? If the Vibe acceleration related or come after a bump in the road?

Did you ask what was wrong with the leafspring?

A bad ujoint will cause a vibration itself.

Well they said the "i hole" on the leaf spring was very worn and broken away from the shackle. The vibration happens really bad at about 30mph to 40mph then seems to just almost go away. You can still feel a vibration in the rear and in the front passenger seat at highway speeds.

I'm not sure which rustys kit I have. I dont believe its the add a leaf kit. However both 3in kits rustys sell has leafs included.

Check you ujoints. Could be driveline vibes from old worn out ujoints that have extra stress from the driveline angle. Try a t-case drop.

I can't see how the leaf spring can cause a harmonic vibration. Take a pic and show it to us so we can see what is worn out. It just might need a bushing or something simple.

You don't replace a spring because of a bad bushing, you replace the bushing.
This is why Stealerships are called stealerships. They are in business to steal your money. Never to your Jeep to a Dealership, or any car for that matter, again. A good reputable mechanic is much better, cheaper and even if you have a warranty to worry about wont void it.

Snap some pic of your rear springs,. We may be able to identify whether they are stocks with a AAL or something else.
