Exclamation LEAF SPRING!

so im trying to seperate the axle from the leaf spring how do i do about doing this. im in the process now so the faster the response the better

remove the four nuts on the bottom of the plate (four on each side)

Already did all the now what?do I have to remove the centerpin or anything or is the axle just rusted to the leaf

the center pin is there to hold the stack together and align the axle. if your shocks are at full extension, they will stop it from dropping out. are you removing the axle or just the leaf pack?

maybe its just rusted to the axel , try putting some weight on it by standing on it or a pry bar

so do i drop the axle completly? im trying to put blocks in iknow iknow blocks are bad.

put a jack under the axle and once its broke free you can lower it down enough to slide your blocks in, you really shouldnt have to disconect the shocks

Make sure the jeep is high enough (jack stands on frame or trailer hitch), remove lower shock mounts, remove "u"bolts, carefully lower axle(floor jack under diff) make sure you do not overextend rear flex hose, prob just rust holding it together! install your blocks and reassemble.

ya that was a complete fail on my part. i disconnected the shocks and then aplied pressure to the axle and then the jack gave out and the axle wen to the floor. i got everything together but no blocks =[

Man if you were gonna do this at a later date i could have helped out. Im about 40 mins north of you. offer still stands just not this week.

wait .... you got everything apart then put it back together without the blocks you were taking apart for in the first place ?

yes the whole axle was on the floor i was getting aggravated hungry cold and tired so i just decided to realign everything and call it a day. i have helper springs that wouldnt allow the block to go in. so i wasnt about to rip everything apart today.
