remove the four nuts on the bottom of the plate (four on each side)

Already did all the now what?do I have to remove the centerpin or anything or is the axle just rusted to the leaf

Throttle Jockey 01-05-2010 07:25 PM

the center pin is there to hold the stack together and align the axle. if your shocks are at full extension, they will stop it from dropping out. are you removing the axle or just the leaf pack?

DEVILSTOY 01-05-2010 07:27 PM

maybe its just rusted to the axel , try putting some weight on it by standing on it or a pry bar

Donnie_K 01-05-2010 07:27 PM

hope you unhooked the shocks first.

so do i drop the axle completly? im trying to put blocks in iknow iknow blocks are bad.

DEVILSTOY 01-05-2010 07:35 PM

put a jack under the axle and once its broke free you can lower it down enough to slide your blocks in, you really shouldnt have to disconect the shocks

captainwoot 01-05-2010 07:47 PM

Make sure the jeep is high enough (jack stands on frame or trailer hitch), remove lower shock mounts, remove "u"bolts, carefully lower axle(floor jack under diff) make sure you do not overextend rear flex hose, prob just rust holding it together! install your blocks and reassemble.

Tap then with a hammer an rattle them loose.

yes the whole axle was on the floor i was getting aggravated hungry cold and tired so i just decided to realign everything and call it a day. i have helper springs that wouldnt allow the block to go in. so i wasnt about to rip everything apart today.
