Default Leaf Clamp Placement

After installing my AAL's I went to AutoZone to get some Leaf Clamps, well they only had 1 set of 2 and no other stores had any so I put 1 on each side around all 5 leafs and then put 2 old bend clamps on each side.

Is there a specific spot or best spot for the to be placed at? I have the bolt-style for auto-zone in front of the axle around all the leafs, were should I put my bend clips and is the bolt-style ok where there at?

Can you post a pic of the two types you have to work with. I am a little confused about bolt vs bend type.

OK. Those are the real good ones. I think I have heard people comment on them positively. Looking forward to the pics.

I'm only using 1 bolt-style on each side and the other will be bend clips, still waiting on my hpone to send the pics to photobucket

I think the old ones was 2 behind the axle and one in the front, is this right or not?

So do I need to move the new one to behind the axle on just 3 or 4 leafs instead of all, and then put a bend clamp up front around 3-4 and one in the far back around 3-4?

Leave the new bolt type on the front part of the springs at the area where it holds 3 leaves together.

Ok so I need to take it off where I have it, holding all the leafs together infront of the axle? I just finished putting some bend clips on in the stock locations around 4 leafs in the front and back. Actually it was in the stock locations I looked at the top leaf to see the rub marks of were they use to be.

I put the long leafs in right (Short to the front/long to the rear), but as I was putting the bend clips on I noticed the short AAL on the passenger side was backwards, long towards front short towards rear. Dont know how in the hell I did that but I'll have to jack her up tomorrow and fix it

I would revise what I said. Due to the leaves you used, put it on leaf #4. It should also be narrower. The purpose of the alignment clamp is to be narrow enough to restrict the side to side movement of individual leaves. I would suggest a narrower clip.

K i think I got it right now, I'm gonna swap that wrong leaf around tomorrow, since I removed the rear sway bar I went ahead while I was playin with teh leaf clamps and used the sway brackets for BPE's.

I heard everyone talk about how stiff AAL's are but I actually like the ride, it's just a little firmer than stock, rides just right for me
