I have a stock 2001 cherokee sport. It has 215/75 r15 tires now, but want to run something bigger. What would be the largest tires i could run while still be able to clear fenders and all?

30x9.50s are the largest you can run stock. some people have run into rubbing issues, some people haven't. They're equal to about a 235/80/15 Not quite, but very close. It may not seem like a big difference but if you compare them side to side a 30x9.50 is quite a big larger than a stock tire. same thing with 31x10.50s compared with 30x9.50s

there is no significant difference between the 96 and older and 97 and newer. I can tell you know, that I have put 31x10.50 under an 86, 89, and 99 now with only minor rubbing at stock height.
that said, they still have the exact same minor rub at 3" lift.

Huh, cause I'm sitting on 3" and I do have massive amounts of rubbing in the front at full stuff because I haven't put bumpstop extensions on...BUT other than that I don't have any rubbing whatsoever.Originally Posted by JeepCoMJ

My Falken 9.5x 30's are doing pretty well (no rubbing at all), wouldn't go any bigger.

the rubbing @ 3" is on the LCA's due to the fact that the tires are too wide, even with 3.5" backspacing.
that's another thing to take into account with rubbing....if your backspacing is wrong for the tire width, you're gonna rub either the fenders, or the suspension.

I don't have any LCA rub at 3". before I was sitting on about 1.5" and had really bad LCA rub at full lock, but since going up to 3" I have non. I also have my front sway bar disconnected and tucked up out of the way, if it sits down the tires will rub it but thats about 1" away from full lock so its not inhibitive to street driving.Originally Posted by JeepCoMJ

anyone tried running 245/75/16 on a 2" BB? I got some Rubicon Moabs with MTR kevlars and debating on selling the 245/75(30.5x9.6) and getting some 255/70(30x10)
