Knocking/squealing noise coming from the flywheel area
I have a '95 Jeep Cherokee, there is a knocking-like noise coming from the flywheel area of the starter. The starter is new and the noise only started post-instilation.

Did it have shims on the last starter?it sounds like the starter maybe hitting the flexplate. You should be able to see if it is,there will be a shiny spot on the flexplate where it is hitting.
