Knocking Issues | 1999 XJ 4.0L 4X4
I have been having knocking issues with my XJ for years as it is not my daily driver. The knocking issues were originally only happening when the vehicle was turning and more noticeable when in 4 wheel drive. Over time what sounded more like a “ping” turned into deeper knocking. Currency the XJ knocks all the time when moving, the knock speed it relative to the wheel speed and sounds like it is coming from either the front driver side wheel well or under the driver seat slightly in front of the transfer case.
