knocking, cracking sound when turning in 4 wheel drive

Default knocking, cracking sound when turning in 4 wheel drive
when i shift into 4 wheel drive. my front(d30) axel sounds like it cracks or knocks when i turn either way but its only when in 4. really annoying and sounds horrible when out wheeling any one got any ideas.

Check your axle shaft u-joints and your drive shaft joints. If it has a vacuum disconnect I would check it to. Good luck.

it makes this sound when ever im turning no matter what im on its even worse on pavement.
