i have a 1997 cherokee sport 4.0 and when i start it when its been sitting and it is cold it knocks pritty bad but when it warms up its fine what should i do

 

Hi, is it a ticking or a knocking? how many miles on the motor and whats the oil pressure if you have a gauge? ...Tj

 

What oil weight are you using?

 

i had the same problem not too long ago. it started out to be very seldom but kept getting worse and worse. found out it was the pushrods. replaced them and the rocker bridges/pivots. been fine for a couple months but doing it again. napa has a kit of pushrods pivots bridges and rockers for 40 or 60

 

im not shore but 174 on motor and oil presure stays past half

 

i use the lucis everytime i change it and i run 10 30 or 10 40
