Keyless Entry.....
Ok so ive been rebuilding my jeep slowly and one thing that keeps coming back up is keyless entry. My parents had the remotes and it worked but of course the threw them away or lost them so now im in the search of a new remote for my 94 sport. Dealer says something over $200 which is ridiculous so im looking for a cheaper option. eBay or some other website or maybe a junkyard? If anyone has reprogrammed a remote or done something other than buying a system from autozone please share with me

The cheapest way to go is to just use the key. The same thing happened with my first XJ, the remotes were MIA so instead of blowing $150+ on remotes (which I would have much rather put towards a locker or something) I just used the key. The only time it really comes in handy is when it's raining and you don't want to fumble with the keys to get the door open or if you want to impress a buddy with the fact your caveman of a vehicle has remote locking doors.
It's really a creature comfort thing, just like AC. Is it handy to have? Sure. But it's easy to live without once you regress a little as far as vehicle technologies go.

Ya, I don't understand these high quotes. I bought two remotes from Ebay for around $10 a piece and the dealer charged me $35 to program each. No biggie...

The dealer wanted $85 to program my remote. I went to a local locksmith and they did it for $24 in 5 minutes. So you may want to shop around, despite the fact that the dealer said, "we are the only one's that can do that".

I didn't get the FOB when I bought mine. Went to PepBoys and bought a Remote Start and Keyless entry kit for 50.00. About 30 mins to install if you are handy and have T connectors.
