keying doors and hatch question
i dont have a door or hatch key. whats is the easiest way to get it re keyed?
Should I remove the lock cylinders and take them to a locksmith, remove the glove box lock and take that in, or just take the whole jeep to the smith, or is there another way?
Thanks.

found the answer.Take your XJ to a locksmith, remove the glove box lock. It has four of the five notches needed for the door. the locksmith makes a key for it. Then there are only four options for the fifth notch it all has to do with the depth of that notch. The smith makes a notch try's it, continues trying until he hits the correct depth. 10 minutes and 20 bucks and good to go with extra keys. He even gave me the key code for the door and ignition keys so in the future I can just take the code to any smith and he can make the correct key.
