Default Just rebuilt transfer case and now it's whining.

Hello all. I just finished rebuilding my tc(np231)with new bearings and seals. I did not replace the chain because it hasn't stretched. At the same time, I put all new u joints in the front and rear driveshafts and had them balanced. I got it all back together and took it for a spin to check the case operation. It shifts into 4wd fine but when I let off the accelerator there is a whining sound. The sound is not present in 2wd, only in 4wd. As soon as I give it a little throttle it goes away. I tried searching the past few days but haven't found anything (besides people talking about the chain grinding the case.)

Any ideas?

Another note, I'm not sure if it was making this noise prior to the tc overhaul. If it was I did not notice it, but then again I only had it in 4wd off road and wasn't driving street speeds so I don't think I would have heard it. Would the tc shift linkage being out of adjustment cause this?
