Oh, and sort of "overlapped" with Radi (since I'm really slow). Agreeing with the cooling system. It seems there could be a sticker, or more info, obvious. IT'S AN EXPANSION BOTTLE! Gotta be at least 1/2 air in there for something to compress. (or something, somewhere else is gonna give)(like the bottle). The Renix closed system, has no pressure relief valve. Important to have a fan shroud and functioning aux fan, as well. (comes on a bit below 220, or on defrost or when the AC is working)

I'm in the same boat, busy and broke. I have 8 703's here, as well as the ones I took out, (which the PO paid $80 each for, years ago).

I wonder what Gee oh Dee paid for his Ford type....

Btw, I noticed there are 6 hole out there now....

And the "jack of all trades" ? How about Polyurethane window calking on the leaky boot, and a solar water heater collector over the roof leak.....

Revised 04-18-2012
* means instructions have been written.

3-C101 Connector Refreshing*
2- Checking sensor grounds*
1-Ground refreshing, adding engine bay grounds

9-CPS testing and adjusting*
6- Snugging up intake manifold bolts
7-Throttle body and IAC cleaning
13-O2 sensor diagnostics

?~21-Vacuum Test For Exhaust Restriction*
?~4-Connector and relay /receptacle refreshing*
?~5-Coil/ICM contacts*
?~8-TPS testing and adjusting*

?~”--maybe roughly in order, easy to longer...

How about importance as maintenance first that everyone should do, on to more diagnostics?

Renix on the 4.0 from 87-90, on the 2.5 in 86 but not too sure on that. I only follow the 4.0 really. Renix is a name for the joining of Renault and Bendix, the companies who designed the fuel injection/management system. A quick google search will give you a good amount of info. You were close on the years Gee oh Dee :P

bradszr1 Please don't mind us stomping around in your thread! Gee oh Dee works here, Cruiser is an expert, and I...well, I just keep showing up.

That IS the order I might consider. (of course 89&90 won't be doing their C-101). That's from your list. I might see if there is air in the tires, and oil and water in it first!

IF there were a problem, by all means, clean up the grounds a.s.a.p. Otherwise you may well just end up chasing your tail!

(over 10 years, 3 relay connections (& the ballast resistor) have had connection problems, fuel, aux fan, & the AC clutch)(two of three were not "critical")

I might stomp on a thread from time to time too. I have a habit of being the know-it-all sounding rookie. I just have nothing better to do other than sit on my computer and post on this forum all day. And, well, I'm jeep crazy If you ever have any type of question about a renix, cruiser is the guy. I swear, if I ever met him in person I would just bow down in awe. Cruiser, how are you not a moderator yet?

I've had an 88 for the past two years and runs amazingly, the only issue I ever get is a random high idle start up from time to time. My dad has replaced all the sensors that could be the culprit and it still does it. So I just have to slap some wires when it happens and it all goes back to normal. Basically these things are amazing, just check all the grounds and the usual maintenance
