My tailights will not stay on. The right side would stay on and I jumped the primary wire from the right side to the left. I’ve chased the wires and checked the fuses and see no shorts ir
bad areas in the wire all the connections and bulbs appear to be fine. No fuses blown. I’m at a loss. It has trailer wires tapped into the harness. Just don’t understand why the driver side wouldn’t work still even after taping into the passenger side.

Bad ground on that side? Is the trailer wiring done right? I've seen way too many wires dorked up by using the scotchlock clip-on wire taps or worse, idiots who strip the wires and just twist them together with some tape.

Do you have a wiring diagram yet to follow? You can get one from a Haynes manual, Chilton's manual, cruiser54.com, your local library, et cetera.
Are you using a multimeter to check (dis)continuity? Visual checking isn't sufficient. Don't forget to check the socket with the multimeter as well.
