Default Jumper pack advice

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a good, reliable jumper pack. I had one my Dad gave me years ago (don't remember the brand) that was a piece of junk. Wouldn't take or hold a charge. I have been looking online at several different make/models, some of them quite expensive. When I read the reviews all of them seem to have a lot of complaints about poor quality and reliability. I need one for when I'm in the woods, but don't want to waste money on something I can't rely on. I don't mind spending money for a quality item (within reason) if it's something I can count on. I would appreciate advice from you guys on which ones you have had good luck with.

Thanks,

I work for a towing company I have one from Mac tools that I use and it gets used on cold mornings I can jump 3 and sometimes 5 or 6 cars or trucks without any problems and I charge it bye way of 110 extension cord about every 3 or 4 weeks and when its not used stays on the back seat of my wrecker with a power cord plugged into it I have had the same jumper pack for 3 years now with no one issue I found you get what you pay for just like a battery buy a good one or replace a cheap one in a year or sooner for the use it get's the mac one is holding up great had a Snap on before this one cost about the same but the mac is a fair bit lighter and smaller its a MAC MTS1400R and has not let me down in 3 years

I have worked at multiple automotive and marine dealerships over the years. Every dealership has its own fleet of jump boxes.
They all seem to have similar strengths and weaknesses, regardless of the brand.

Sometimes you will get one off the shelf that will not hold a charge, and you have to return it. On the flip side you can get the exact same box that will work flawlessly every day for 3 years.
You will get an average of 2 years out of it. I recommend getting the one with the "best" reviews.

I usually vouch for high end tools, but can't recommend a $300 name brand jump box. I believe they are inherently unreliable pieces of equipment. That is why they only carry a 1 year warranty.

If I was buying one today I would go with a Clore Jump N Carry.

X2 on the Clore Jump and Carry. I got one for my Dad about seven years ago and it still works fine. Its not used everyday, but its charged about once every 2 months. Also, I think Clore also offers a warranty to put a new battery init, if it ever needs it, for like $50.00 bucks. Amazon has them for like $120.00. The Mac one looks almost identical to it.

There was just another thread about this less then a week ago.
I own this one.

http://www.antecmobileproducts.com/c...-eps16500.html

Picked it up off Newegg a few years ago for $70 after a rebate. Never had to jump my Jeep with it but have helped out other people.
I check it every April and October. Just sits in the Jeep. In April after sitting in the Jeep all winter is still has 3
out of the 4 bars fully lit and the fourth one still has a faint glow to it. I have yet to use the little air compressor though.

Thanks for the replies Sorry to repeat a question that has already been answered. I always try to do a search on my questions so folks don't have to repeat themselves. That's the main reason my post count is so low., but nothing came up. I must have used the wrong words in the search box.

the jump n carry work pretty good ive used them for years , with that being I personally own a snap on jump box it was way overpriced but works great and has a built in 110v inverter so its handy for camping . if you want a much cheaper option that works awesome try the red fuel line of jump packs it is unreal how well they work !!
