I've done some pretty extensive research on JK shocks and I know that they will definitely fit the 2-4 inch lift range. Will they also fit a smaller lift anywhere from 0.5-1.5 inches? I plan on getting QT HD leaf springs and coils and supposedly this should net me within that range. The JK shocks seem like a great, inexpensive move, but I just want to make sure that they will fit and not bottom out.
Thanks!

If your getting new coils and leaves, why not lift it too?
I have JK shocks on 3.5", they are OK. Alittle too stiff because they are made for the much heavier JK but you cant beat the price.

My main priority isn't a lift, my main priority is to replace the sagging, rusty stock components. It's 99% a DD with the exception of beach runs and driving up dirt roads in Vermont. I like the idea of getting just a little of a lift with the HD components, but I don't want more than the 0.5-1.5 inch range because I don't want to open a can of worms with DL vibes. My Jeep works perfectly (as perfect as ten year old vehicle could!) and I don't want to put that at risk.

Thats ok but your probably going to spend more on replacement parts then i did on my whole lift, which was about 200. A tcase drop and axle shims would fix vibes and you dont have to change anything up front to run 3" of lift. I DD mine back and forth from MI and NC and the lift doesnt affect the ride much (ok the shocks do cause they are stiff but thats it)
Just saying cause 3" and 31's look pretty sweet

I think 31's and 3 inch lift looks cool too, but it isn't for me. I understand that it might seem like I'm spending a lot on replacement parts, but I need new full leaf packs so that alone is ~200. The OME offerings are all more lift than I want. Anyone have input on the JK shock question?

The shocks this guy picked out in his BB would probably be more appropriate.

I have been researching this as well. I am currently installing JK Rubicon shocks on the rears at the moment on a 3" lift on my 98 XJ.
There are three components to shocks, compressed length, extended length and travel.
The short answer is with only 1" avg lift the stock length shocks should suffice. Look at most lift packages as an example. New shocks aren't required until you get up around 2" or greater of Lift.
Using the Front JK Rubi shocks should be ok. The lengths compressed and extended are about the same.
But the rear the JK Rubi Shocks are about 2" longer and by not installing at least 2" of lift to compensate for it. You would lose that travel and the shock would be riding at near the bottom of the range of travel vs in the middle.
This will make for a harsher ride and less travel to absorb bumps.

Come on Man ?!
That is entirely NOT what I was implying.
If I wasn't clear then in summary.
Front JK are OK, length about the same.
Rears JK are too long for the length the OP spec'd.
I wanna replace my lower mount flange head nut (axle mount) with grade 8.
What size is that ?
Anyone know off hand ?
Thankz.
