My jeeo this morning didn't start, it just cranks and tries to start but no spark. It has new spark plugs, so' I changed the ignition coil, plugged it in and everything and it wont start. I don't know whag else it could be, the gas pump is sending gas to the engine so... i need help desperately please. It's my daily, cause its the only car I have.

I had this problem not long ago with my 98 cherokee and it turned out to be the crankshaft sensor..I hope that this is helpful.

I changed the crank sensor and it still didnt spark. I put the old one back in. And then I changed the distributor completely and it still didn't spark, so I took it back and tgen put the old one back in, they told me the ECU in cherokees tend to **** up a lot so I bought a new one, still havent started it since I lost the rotor to the distributor, im going to buy one tomorrow in hopes thag it's the ECU, if not i dont know anything else that it could be since the spark plugs are new.

How old is the Starter? Had this issue in the past. it would try and start but never crank over. After after checking everything I went and tapped on the starter and it started up. I may it to the interstate and then it completely died when I stopped. I had no power or nothing. Replaced the starter on the side of the road and running good since. But like mentioned above, could be just a sensor. Never hurts to give the started a tap or jump the starter solenoid and see it that's the problem.

Good luck.

I thought the same but the car cranks so I highly doubt it. The probkem is nk spark.

Hmm, well if it turns out not to be the ECU, (Not trying to sound dumb just trying to help) I would work back from the plugs and check all the connections and sensors and clean any that are dirty and test any that look like they may be bad. Also any oil leaking into the plugs? Had that happen to me and caused it to not start. Was due to bad valve cover gasket. Resealed it with permatex form-a-gasket and it stopped the leak. After I cleaned the plugs it was good.

Let us know how it works out tomorrow.
