Let me start by saying it was fine until I got the oil changed. I know I should have changed it myself but two jobs and three kids, you gotta do what you gotta do.
So after getting an oil change I pulled into baseball practice and it died as I stopped. Didn't worry about it and went to practice. After practice it wouldn't start. Not even a crank. Sat there a minute and tried it again. Boom started up.
Didn't drive it again until today, got to the gas station and cut it off. Filled up and went to crank, nothing. Popped the hood, checked the battery and all other connections. Decided it could be the starter. Grabbed a hammer and tapped it a few times. Boom, starts right up. Head to baseball again tonight and it acts fine on the way there. Go to leave and it won't start. I mess with the shifter and it finally starts. Runs horrible and dies multiple times on the way home. I'm baffled and broke. LMK places to check. Thanks guys in advance.

The only thing I can think that might cause a no-crank AND poor running would be a poor battery connection. I know you said you already checked, but might be worth cleaning the connections on both ends of the cables. Maybe someone else has a different idea.

The thing I don't understand is, it will be running then die and then come back on. Guess I'll have to give it a once over tomorrow evening if I have time. Keep the ideas coming. Thank you very much for the help.

I've checked all wiring, battery cables and grounds. I see nothing out of the ordinary. Does the power for the vehicle run through the starter internally on a starter solenoid or does it have an external one?

Describe "checked" for us. Did that include removal and cleaning?

No I did not remove and clean. I haven't had much time to even look at it. The battery is six months old as well as the cables. The battery would have nothing to do with it not cranking. All the lights work and the fuel pump primes it just doesn't crank.

Take it to a local parts store that offers free diagnostics. They'll scan the OBD and check the battery, alternator, starter, and charging system. Could be one thing or a number of things causing your problem/problems.
