Can off timing cause NO spark at all? Just wondering...
(Never dealt with off timing)
*Edit* On my Chevys I could have off timing but still get spark.

Well then.

1. Started it
2. Started to die
3. Gave gas to stop it from dying
4. Backfired with large black smoke cloud
5. Now wont start. Crank no start

I'm tracing it from this.

Large clouds of black smoke....I think this is going down a road of more than just connections and starting issues tbh...

 

Are you checking for spark like this ?

 

That's how the no start all crank began.
