Or the damaged fly wheel (I think you said you have a manual) can keep destroying the CPS. Pull it out and keep us updated so we can advance with other trouble shooting if needed.

Your tranny would of had to of been really loose from motor for it to be damaged .Not saying its impossible he stated to me he recently had it sputtering after messin under the hood near the starter/ground wire areas.

He said all of his bolts underneath were loose and one fell out. He also had bad grinding before tightening up all the bolts again. It's worth a shot to double check the new one considering he said his old one was damaged.

Its a manual theres no way the plastic cps would hurt it then there solid steel about 30 pounds worth of thickness. It would disengrate a cps with heavy contact.

Well with the flywheel stuff. My transmission was loose before I checked the CPS. A bolt came out (probably from being loose and gear shifting made the thing shake.)
Wasn't really loose (couldn't shake it) but when all of the bolts were tightened the grinding sound went away from the clutch pedal being pushed in.
The CPU I have still looks new. I pulled it off after we put it on an 1988 of my friends a few hours ago to test. Looked new except for oil on it.
