Default Jeep Wheels-Are they interchangeable?

I have a 93 cherokee. Stock. 15 in wheels. I see lots of very inexpensive tires/wheels for sale, when folks upgrade their newer jeeps with bigger rims. Problem is...They are all 16 inches or larger tires and wheels.
Question 1: Bolt pattern for 2005+ models match my 93 Cherokee?
Question 2: Can I put 16' rims and tires on My 93 Cherokee without doing other mods?

Thanks for your help!

Your bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5. I don't believe the 2005 and later are the same size.

You can fit a 30" tall tire on there. Take your measuring tape with you when shopping.

Looks like there is another piece of information I need. High positive backspace vs. medium. I found information explaining each. What I need to know is if I can put High positive on my ride when OEM was Medium. Thanks again for help.

Where the hell are you getting these terms lol?

Think you have a GRAND cherokee (ZJ)... After 99 the bolt pattern changed for grand Cherokees... You need anything 5 x 4.5. Back spacing should depend on what kind of lift and tire set up you have. If you are stock, keep the stock set up. That high something back spacing you mentioned should would

I found a good resource for figuring out compatible wheels is a site like tirerack.com. You just plug in what you have, get the info. Then you can input other year models and compare the info. Just my 2 cents.

Answer1: The 95 and later Jeeps are 5x5, the 94 and earlier are 5x4.5(this is what you have).
Answer2: 16" wheels or larger fit without mods, as long as the tire remains 30" and under.

I put on 16" Rubicons and 245/75R16 tires on my stock XJ Up Country with no issues.

Wrong...
XJ, ZJ, MJ, YJ, And TJ use 5 x 4.5...
WJ and JK's are the two new popular jeeps with 5 x 5

So for grand Cherokees, it's 93-98 (ZJ) 99-04? (WJ) so two different bolt patterns

Ok here we go lol. CJs rolled on 5x5 or 5x5.5.

These vehicles use the 5x4.5 bolt pattern:

YJ (1987-1995) First generation Wrangler (post-CJ)
MJ (1985-1992) Comanche
XJ (1986-2001) Cherokee
ZJ (1993-1998) First generation Grand Cherokee
TJ (1997-2006) Second generation Wrangler
KJ (2002-2007) Liberty
LJ (2004-2006) Wrangler Unlimited pre-JKs, longer wheel base and back of tub.
KK (2008-present) Second generation Liberty

Note that the Liberties and some 16" steel TJ rims may have different backspacing which can prevent running wider tires without rubbing. The TJs and LJs came in a Rubicon package with 16" Moab rims that were 5x4.5 with good backspacing. These are NOT the same as the rims on JK Rubicons (2008-present) which are 17" 5x5.

Some other vehicles that may fit are (sorry don't know which years):

Mazda B-series trucks
Ford Ranger
Ford Explorer

There are likely others too.
