Well after a long day on the water Sunday I sent a buddy to back my jeep up to load up the boat and he decided not to stop. Long story short, it bobbed, it sunk, and it disappeared. It was only under for about 10 minutes before the recker showed up and I dove down and Rescued her. I flushed out the motor completely with diesel, pulled the plugs and put trans fluid in the cylinders and what not. It turned over a few times and I stopped and when I went to turn it over again it was just clicking. When I roll the key forward none of my gauges are reading, it's not showing my mileage, nothing. All that is coming on in the dash is the brake light. What's still wet?

Did this once but no where as deep as yours. I remember sitting in water, but that was it.
I remember taking all the seats and carpet out and flushing with clean water and air drying. The AT had water in it, but not the engine. Over ten years so don't remember much else.
Good Luck!

You really reckon its toast? There is nothing i should try to do? They will go up half way for about 2 seconds and then back down every now and then.

Don't keep trying, it will only make it worse if there is still moisture in the electronics. At best you will probably be looking at replacing all the electronics, mechanicals will probably still be good, but putting power to wet electronics is very bad. Check the junkyard for new dash gauges and as many control modules and relays as you can find. Give it another week to dry or more before hooking them all back up.

Open the doors, disconnect the battery, and put several fans in it on high for 2-3 days. Blowing especially under the dash and engine compartment.
Open up the fuse boxes under the hood and put a fan on the engine compartment.
You might be able to rescue it if it was in fresh water. Salt water, probably not.

start off with drying everything out as good as you can. The ECU is encased in a hard resin, so I doubt it's fried, but if it is, it's probably from turning the key on with wet connections.
Like I said, DRY ALL CONNECTIONS, I mean ALL of them. If it is a point where wires connect to each other, unplug it, shoot some WD40 in it, dry it out good, and reconnect.

Write if off as a lesson learned and move on...It"ll never be the same and you'll be constantly chasing electrical gremlins. May be you can save some of the mechanical components for your next XJ.

First thing you need to do is beat the crap out of your so called friend. Then start looking for another Jeep and give him the bill for it. Also NEVER let him drive your vehicles again!
